Big Deal has a new record coming out next week entitled June Gloom! We are very excited for this new record, because from what we’ve heard it sounds a little bit like the pixies! Can’t wait!

Band Episode: Hey Marseilles

Dear music loving friends,
This is a video we made with Seattle band Hey Marseilles when they came to visit our fair city of Denver. Listening to Hey Marseilles play their song “Heart Beats” took me back to an evening in 1999 when I stumbled into a show and heard Death Cab For Cutie for the very first time. There is a sincerity in the lyrics and chords that make you happy and sad all at the same time. And to me– that is the best kind of art…everything at once, the good and the bad, the salty and the sweet.

I hope you’ll like them as much as we do.

Hey Marseilles Trailer

Friends & family!

This is a trailer for next week’s episode on Hey Marseilles. We absolutely loved this shoot! It was a cold snowy evening in Denver, the band was playing at the Hi-Dive but we impulsively crossed the street and were welcomed into a bookstore to film their interview and performance.
What a special shoot, thank you to the Hey Marseilles guys and crew!

Standby: The Big Chill Soundtrack

This standby is dedicated to my mom–who introduced me to this movie and so many other amazing movies. I would be super boring and know nothing about movies or music if it weren’t for you! Happy Mother’s day!!

Anthem of the Week Ellie Goulding’s “Anything Could Happen”

It’s my birthday next week, the last snowstorm of the season was last week, but this week….
Anything could happen
Anything could happen
Anything could happen
Anything could happen
Anything could happen

I dare you not to dance when you listen to this song.

I double dog dare you,

Band Episode: Oak Creek Band

We had so much fun spending time with the Oak Creek Band!! They are SO talented and yet so humble. It’s rare to find such talented people be so down to earth and kind. Plus they taught us how to tie-dye t-shirts, and sang us into a happy oblivion. What more could you ask for?

Thanks Oak Creek for making such lovely music.

heart,
